Tastefully converted from a traditional 1790s cottage, in Romantic French décor, it offers period charm with all the benefits of modern comforts and technology. La Planque, meaning literally the Hideaway, is situated in an elevated position near the small village of Mont Roc. It occupies a secluded location at the end of a country lane. There are extensive views from both front and rear terraces over rolling wooded valleys.
The beautiful Tarn region of the Midi-Pyrenees is an area renowned for its chestnut forests, tranquil lakes and dramatic gorges. The area is also handsomely endowed with beautiful medieval villages, colourful markets and quality restaurants. The elegant medieval town of Albi, the capital of Tarn, is only 25 minutes away by car, and offers a feast of cultural delights, including the best exhibition of Toulouse Lautrec’s work anywhere, adjoining the renowned Gothic cathedral. There is a wealth of things to see and do in the area, the climate is wonderful – the Tarn is reputed to have 300+ days of sunshine per year. The gastronomic experiences and wine are superb.
