La Planque (meaning literally the Hideaway) is situated on the edge of
the small village of Mont Roc, in a secluded location at the end of
a lane. Built in the 1790s and recently renovated, the property offers all modern conveniences with old-fashioned charm.

There are panoramic views of the tranquil valleys and woodland. Outside there are two terraces, east and west facing, ensuring all day sunshine (or shade, depending on your preference).
Main lounge and bedroom
Inside there is a modern well-equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge with open log fire.
A hallway off the main lounge leads to the bathroom with shower and separate WC.
There are two tastefully decorated bedrooms, one double and one twin. 
Further sleeping accommodation is available in an area off the main lounge, which has folding doors and a quality, daily use, double sofa-bed.

Wide, graduated steps lead down from the sunny west terrace to the salt
water swimming pool, (10 by 5 metres) and the sun terrace with loungers.
There is also a solar powered outside shower and good quality outside
lighting by the pool and terrace for evenings. A full size BBQ is
also provided.
About The Region
The cottage
is situated in the beautiful Tarn region of the Midi-Pyrenees, also part of Languedoc.
Albi, a medieval town overlooking the majestic river Tarn, has 'one of the most remarkable
Gothic cathedrals you will ever see.' (Rough Guide to France).
It also has a museum containing the most comprehensive collection of Toulouse
Lautrec's work anywhere, (Albi was his birthplace).
Within half an hour's drive from the cottage, Albi has sophisticated shops, restaurants
and supermarkets.

Food and Markets:
Local specialities include the Roquefort cheese, Gaillac wine, artisan bread in the village, reputedly the best goat’s cheese in the Tarn is at nearby Paulinet. Fresh produce from the local markets, ceps, eggs, etc, the fruit and vegetables are excellent and plentiful in season. Realmont with its medieval covered cloisters is an absolute must on a Wednesday.
The wider
area
The village of Mont Roc has a boulangerie, which makes delicious bread and within
5 miles are the villages of St Pierre de Trevissy and Teillet. These have
good general stores selling food and all sorts of other useful items.
There is a garage and chemists store, also a restaurant and bar.
Realmont, a small town about 25 minutes away has a regular market, a bank and many
shops. There is lots to do in the area. To name but a few:

" Golf at Albi, Toulouse and others
" Fell-walking - 2000 kilometres of walks in the area and more adventurous
walks slightly further afield.
