Grasmere
Grasmere has been called the jewel in the crown of the villages of the southern
Lake District. Set in an unspoilt valley surrounded by fells, with
the lake nestling at its foot, it's no wonder that Wordsworth called
Grasmere 'the loveliest spot that man hath ever found'. Due to its
central location in the Lake District, Grasmere is an ideal touring
base.
The village, with its many quality shops, restaurants, post office,
etc, is five to ten minutes level walk from 'Silver Fell'.
There is a regular bus service between Kendal and Keswick. The nearest
station is Windermere and local taxis are available.
